An Officer-Involved Shooting In Grundy Virginia Over The Weekend Has Resulted In The Suspect Being Charged. It Happened Saturday Night At The Appalachian Inn On Owl Street. A Grundy Police Officer Was Providing 46 Year Old Melissa Trammel A Ride To The Motel, And As He Was Helping To Get Her Possessions Into Her Room, She Allegedly Attacked The Officer, Leading To Trammel Being Shot. Trammel And The Officer Were Both Treated At A Local Hospital. Trammel Is Charged With One Count Of Felony Assault On A Police Officer And Remains In Jail. The Officer Has Been Placed On Leave While The Investigation Continues.
