The president of a Law School in Grundy Virginia has decided to retire. Appalachian School of Law President Lu Ellsworth helped establish the school with a goal of increasing legal assistance to the region’s underserved clients. Ellsworth was at the forefront of those who started building the private school in 1994 and became its president in 1995. The first class was admitted in 1997. You may remember, Appalachian School of Law was the site of a triple slaying in 2002. A student gunman killed school Dean Anthony Sutin, professor Thomas Blackwell and first-year law student Angela Dales. Ellsworth’s last day is unknown at this time.
