The TBI Is Investigating An Officer Shooting In Kingsport. Officers Responded Last Night On A Report Of A 16 Year Old Male Juvenile Who Had Escaped Custody From The Department Of Children’s Services On Eastman Road. An Officer Spotted The Suspect Near Railroad Tracks Off Lincoln Street And Attempted To Take Him Into Custody. A Struggle Ensued And The Suspect Grabbed The Officers Gun And At Some Point, The Gun Fired Striking The Officer In The Lower Leg. Backup Officers Were Able To Take The Suspect Into Custody. Charges Are Pending. The Officer Was Treated At An Area Hospital And Has Since Been Released.
