According To The State Comptroller’s Office, Sullivan County’s Finances Had Audit Issues In Fiscal Year 2021. There Were Eight Findings In Total, All Within The School System. Tennessee Comptroller Of The Treasury, Jason Mumpower, Said He Wants The Public To Understand This Is A Reflection Of The Past, Not The Present Or Future. The Problems Centered Around Payroll, Capital Assets, And Net Of Accumulated Depreciation. Since The Audit, Bookkeeping Responsibilities Have Been Shifted To The County’s Finance Department.
