THREE PEOPLE ACCUSED IN THE MURDER OF A BUCHANAN COUNTY VIRGINIA MAN NEARLY TWO YEARS AGO HAVE TRIAL DATES SET FOR NEXT YEAR. 17 YEAR OLD VANESSA LYNN BROWN IS CHARGED WITH FIRST DEGREE MURDER, WHILE HER MOTHER, DEBRA BROWN, IS CHARGED WITH CONSPIRACY TO COMMIT MURDER AND FELONY ARSON IN THE DEATH OF HER HUSBAND, 51 YEAR OLD ROBERT LEE BROWN. VANESSA BROWN’S BOYFRIEND, CLAUDE PAYNE JR. IS CHARGED WITH BEING AN ACCESSORY AFTER THE FACT AND CONSPIRACY TO COMMIT ARSON. POLICE FOUND BROWN’S BURNED BODY IN A PICKUP TRUCK AT AN ABANDONED COAL MINE IN JOLO WEST VIRGINIA IN JANUARY. THEY BELIEVE HE WAS DEAD BEFORE THE TRUCK CAUGHT FIRE, BUT HAVEN’T SAID HOW HE WAS KILLED. VANESSA AND DEBRA BROWN HAVE A TRIAL DATE OF MARCH 19TH IN BUCHANAN COUNTY CIRCUIT COURT, WHILE PAYNE WILL GO TO TRIAL ON APRIL 14TH.
