Inspectors Visited The Bristol Virginia Landfill This Week After An Overflow Of Water Near The Eastern Portion Was Observed. According To The Inspection Team, The Overflow Was Not As Severe As First Thought. It Appears It Was The Result Of A Failed Pump And A Closed Valve That Overflowed A Bermed Area That Captures Stormwater And Seeps, Causing It To Flow Into A Nearby Tributary On The Virginia Side. The City Is Continuing To Take Steps To Correct The Odor Problem.
