A Lawsuit From The American Civil Liberties Union Is Seeking To End Solitary Confinement At Two High-Security Prisons In Southwest Virginia. Last Year, A U.S. District Court Judge Denied A Request By The Virginia Department Of Corrections To End The Use Of The Solitary Cells At Wallens Ridge And Red Onion State Prisons. Vdoc Appealed That Decision, Which Has Moved The Case Before The 4Th U.S. Circuit Court Of Appeals. No Ruling Has Been Made At This Time.
