The Washington County Tennessee Election Commission Is Considering Replacing Its Paper Poll Books With Digital Devices. Election Officials Say The Poll Pads, Would Be Used To Help With The Check-In Of Voters At The Polls. It Would Prevent Voters From Receiving The Wrong Ballot, Would Replace 11-Thousand Pages Of Bulky Printed Material And Reduce Human Error. It Will Also Allow For A Voter’S Identification To Be Scanned And Verified Within 35 Seconds. The Change Would Cost Just Over 60-Thousand Dollars For 38 Devices. The Committee Is Expected To Consider The Proposal Thursday.
