A SINGLE VEHICLE CRASH OVER THE WEEKEND IN KINGSPORT HAS CLAIMED THE LIFE OF A CITY MAN. ACCORDING TO POLICE, 71 YEAR OLD RAY CONKIN WAS TRAVELING ALONG GLEN ALPINE ROAD SATURDAY AFTERNOON WHEN HIS TRUCK RAN OFF THE ROADWAY, STRUCK A FENCE, WENT THROUGH A FIELD AND STRUCK A CREEK BED. HE WAS TAKEN TO A LOCAL HOSPITAL WHERE HE LATER DIED. AUTHORITIES BELIEVE CONKIN SUFFERED AN UNSPECIFIED MEDICAL EMERGENCY WHICH MAY HAVE CAUSED THE CRASH.
