A BRISTOL TENNESSEE MANUFACTURING FACILITY HAS ANNOUNCED ITS INVESTIGATING CLAIMS THAT DRUG USE AND DRUG TRAFFICKING IS GOING ON AT THEIR FACILITY. EXIDE CORPORATION EMPLOYEES OVER 900 PEOPLE AT IT’S BATTERY MANUFACTURING PLANT AND DISTRIBUTION CENTER. HEALTH AND SAFETY MANAGER JOSEPH BOLEA SAID THE PROBE IS JUST GETTING UNDERWAY BUT SO FAR, NO WORKERS HAVE BEEN DISMISSED AS A RESULT OF IT. EXIDE HAS A ZERO-TOLERANCE POLICY FOR EMPLOYEES CAUGHT WORKING UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF ILLEGAL DRUGS OR ALCOHOL. IT ALSO HAS A RANDOM DRUG TESTING POLICY WERE IT SCREENS THOSE SUSPECTED TO USING DRUGS. BOLEA SAID THIS INVESTIGATION IS BEING CONDUCTED IN HOUSE AND NO OUTSIDE LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENCY HAS BEEN CONTACTED.
