TWO NEW TASK FORCES HAVE BEEN CREATED TO HELP THE TRI-CITIES REGION IN THE EVENT OF A LARGE SCALE DISASTER. TWO MEDICAL RESERVE CORPS UNITS WILL COVER JUST OVER 710-THOUSAND PEOPLE IN OUR REGION AND WILL BRING TOGETHER NEARLY 23-HUNDRED MEDICAL PROFESSIONALS AND TRAINED CITIZENS WHO CAN BE DEPLOYED ACROSS THE REGION IN A TIME OF CHAOS. THE UNITS WERE ANNOUNCED YESTERDAY DURING A NEWS CONFERENCE AT THE SULLIVAN COUNTY HEALTH DEPARTMENT. THE MRC IS A NATIONAL PROGRAM AIMED AT IMPROVING LOCAL EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS.
