Dominion Energy Virginia Officials Say The Highlands Solar Project Is One Of The First Utility-Scale Projects In The Country. About 1,200 Acres Of Land At The Former Red Onion Surface Mine Will Be Repurposed. The Project Is Said To Generate Enough Energy To Power Over 12,500 Homes. Dominion Energy Will Conduct Studies And Apply For Permits Over The Next Couple Of Years. The Company Plans To Begin Construction As Early As 2024.
