ONE OF TWO JOHNSON CITY HOMELESS MEN ACCUSED OF KILLING AN ACQUAINTANCE HAS BEEN APPOINTED AN ATTORNEY. 42 YEAR OLD JAMES GARNER IS CHARGED ALONG WITH 54 YEAR OLD TERRY MCINTOSH WITH SECOND-DEGREE MURDER IN THE KILLING OF 38 YEAR OLD SCOTT BABB. BABB WAS FOUND DEAD AT A HOMELESS CAMPSITE NEAR THE DEAD END OF MARY STREET ON JUNE 7TH. THE TWO MEN REPORTEDLY USED A HATCHET AND PICK AX TO KILL BABB AFTER HE REFUSED TO SHARE HIS LIQUOR. CRIMINAL COURT JUDGE ROBERT CUP APPOINTED ROBERT BRADFORD AS GARNER’S ATTORNEY. A JUDGE IS EXPECTED TO APPOINT AN ATTORNEY FOR MCINTOSH WHEN BOTH MEN APPEAR BACK IN COURT JANUARY 8TH. THEY’RE CURRENTLY BEING HELD ON 100-THOUSAND DOLLARS BOND EACH.
