THE VIRGINIA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION IS READY FOR WHEN THE SNOWFLAKES START TO FALL THIS WINTER. ACCORDING TO V-DOT SPOKESWOMAN MICHELLE EARL, SNOW FIGHTING CHEMICALS ARE STORED, THE SNOWPLOWS ARE READY, AND CREWS ARE WELL REHEARSED ON SNOW REMOVAL ROUTES. STATEWIDE, NEARLY 32-HUNDRED V-DOT CREW MEMBERS AND MORE THAN 36-HUNDRED PIECES OF SNOW REMOVAL EQUIPMENT ARE READY. IN SOUTHWEST VIRGINIA’S BRISTOL TRANSPORTATION DISTRICT, WHICH INCLUDES SMYTH, WASHINGTON, SCOTT, AND WISE COUNTIES, APPROXIMATELY 11-MILLION DOLLARS HAVE BEEN BUDGETED FOR SNOW REMOVAL THIS WINTER.
